Duplex 2205 (UNS S32205 / S31803) is a nitrogen-alloyed duplex stainless steel with an approximately 50/50 austenite–ferrite structure.
It offers:

• About twice the yield strength of 304L/316L

• High resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and chloride SCC

• Reliable performance in chloride-bearing, mildly sour and mixed acid/alkali chemical media

This makes Duplex 2205 pipe a strong, corrosion-resistant, and cost-effective choice for demanding chemical-processing and offshore systems.

Main Features

1. High strength – Rp0.2 ≥ 450 MPa, Rm ≥ 620 MPa, allowing thinner walls at the same design pressure.

2. Excellent corrosion resistance – high PREN, strong resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and chloride SCC.

3. Good weldability – suitable for standard welding processes when heat input and interpass temperature are properly controlled.
